Here at Bumpkintale, we gather not for fame, not for recognition, but because each of us carries something we want to protect, something we want to bring into the world, something we want to speak about. Today, you are here for yourself — and for all of us who make this circle possible.

Honestly, if you gave me the choice to choose between a princess, a queen or becoming a knight, I’d choose the latter. Not the knight in shining armor, because let’s be realistic. No one with clean armor would be capable of protecting someone. My armor would be forfeit and dirty from all the fights I fought, with and for you & myself. That’s what we all do: fight foremost for others, to make their life better. We each aspire to be someone who makes even just one person strong enough to get up another day. Bumpkintale is for that. But it is foremost for us. For its members. For the people who spend their time making others happy. We also need to look after yourselfes.

I’ve always loved the image of a knight marked by every battle fought for others. That’s the kind of strength we honor here: the courage to carry, to protect, and to rise again.
